basic web site design consists of the graphic elements and layout of the page, resulting in a unique template into which the site's content is then entered. The site's navigational system allows the visitor to access this content.

when a visitor arrives at the site, s/he will be able to learn details about the service or business so that an actual contact with the business is more likely to result in a sale or contract for the service. The range of the details that can be included in a web site is much more extensive than could be covered in most other media, such as Yellow Page or magazine advertisements, brochures, or mass mailings -- all at a fraction of the cost of such media.

how it works

to begin the design process, we encourage you to request our email ; it will be sent to you by return email. Fill it out at your leisure and to the best of your abilities, then email it back to us.

We will contact you to discuss your needs further. This initial free consultation with you allows us to gauge the scope of the project so that we can develop a detailed estimate for you.

after the initial estimate, upon further consultations with you, we may send you a contract based on this estimate, or send you an adjusted estimate if necessary. After signing of the contract and payment of the deposit (usually 25% of the estimate) our designers begin the first phase of the process.

in the first phase, we design several mockup images of what your site might look like, based on the needs and preferences you have communicated to us. You will then be able to choose which one you like best (or we'll start over if you don't like any of them). At this point, we can make whatever adjustments necessary to provide the design and layout that will work best for you.

after you sign off on the mockup, we will turn the design into the actual graphics and HTML code that makes up the site's page template. This template will be posted online for your review at a special URL given to you. You will be able to monitor the progress at this private site throughout the project. Depending on the scope of the project, we may ask for an additional payment at this stage, as per contract.

at this stage, we will need the site's content and images from you. You can provide site content in any common file format, such as text, rtf, or Word. Content should be proofread and separated by page; we'll be glad to help you with this (may incur additional charges). Images can be in any common graphic file format, such as tif, bmp, jpg. We prefer larger than needed images so that we can size and optimize them for your site. You must own the copyright to any content or image, or provide us with a copy of the written permission from the copyright owner. Pictures of people may require a release form.

site content will dictate the navigational system we design for you, usually based on related subjects. Our goal is to provide the visitor with an easy and intuitive path through your site, leading to the desired outcome, such as calling you or contacting you via email. Email contact will be generated by an online form so that your email address is not harvested by spammers.

nearing the end of the project you will need to secure a hosting account, either through us or another provider. We will need full access to this account in order to install your site and test it. At this point, if you haven't already started, we also encourage you to begin promoting your business and your new site, both online and offline. This is extremely important!

the final step will be for us to burn a backup CD for you.
